There are some countries where it's was mandatory that once a boy became a young mane "15-16 years old" he was eligible for the Military, they would send them off to train and fight along side grown men. There has been posters of Military Recruitment advertisement like:

it seems as if the man in the poster (Uncle Sam) is talking directly to you saying that he wants you to come and help fight for your country. This poster has been said to been used for World War 1 and World War 2  Flagg (the creator of the poster) was said to used a modified version of his own face for Uncle Sam. Then came another quote from John. F. Kennedy "Ask not What Your Country Can Do for You, Ask what You can do for Your country". This is another motive for making people want to join the U.S ARMY it makes you think "Man! I'm not really doing anything to help my country.... maybe I should join the ARMY!  then I'll actually be worth something to my country!"

Brian the honest recruiter, I'm here to explain the enlistment/reenlistment document armed forces of the United States. So you're looking for adventure, job training, and money for college? If you're planning on joining the military you'll fill out a 4-page form, but before you sign it there are some very important things you need to know!

Obviously the first page is there to get you excited and to grasp you in but nothing is as simple as it looks. Take the length of enlistment for instance. Here it looks definite and limited. But in face it's not! T he military can make it longer. Recruiter make a lot of sweet promises; they might attach extra pages with even more promises, but GET THIS-- The Military can BREAK ALL OF THEM!!

Recruiters often skip the partial statement page but YOU BETTER NOT! It shows that:
1-2: This is NOT a normal job, and NOT a normal contract. You CAN'T QUIT, for one.
3:  They can send you to WAR.
4: They can Chance your job conditions at anytime WITHOUT NOTICE. This includes your DUTIES, PAY, BENEFITS, and BREAKING ALL YOUR RECRUITER'S PROMISES. That;s what this means. GOT IT?
5-7: The military can even extend your enlistment WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT. Over 21,000 Gls have been extended since 2003.

If you don't mind any of those, Before you sign, here's more to think about:

Most military training is NOT useful in civilian jobs. Many Vets suffer LONG-TERM physical an physiological damage PTSD, "Gulf War Syndrome," and more. Women in the military face a HIGH RISK of sexual harassment and rape.  Military life is HARD on families, with higher rates of domestic abuse and divorce. Veterans benefits have been cute repeatedly, with MORE cuts on the way. Dozens of US soldiers are being killed every month, Hundreds are wounded, and some even commit suicide from the mental stress.

About the  Delayed enlistment program: If you CHANGE YOUR MIND after you sign up for DEP, It's EASY to get out. One sure way: Just DON'T SHOW UP.
